Pinteractive!

Nannersp

My buddy, Nanette, over at Say It Don't Spray It has started a fun little challenge for all of us Pinterest addicts.  She's challenging us to complete one Pinterest inspired project a week!  Game on!  I've got tons of great ideas floating around on my boards and it's time to stop daydreaming about them all!

I actually completed 2 pins this past week,  both being Valentine's Day related for the kidlet to take to preschool.

For her first party on Friday, we did these adorable Swedish Fish Bowls.  It's very straight forward, and I only have an Instagram picture to share:

And for the big day tomorrow, we did the Valentine Lollipop Photo Card.  The hardest part was obviously getting the kidlet to cooperate and pose as instructed.  I had them printed out at our local drugstore for under $2.  So cute and she is really excited to hand these out to her classmates tomorrow!

Are you ready to get Pinteractive?  If so, link up your posts here!  And also, follow me on Pinterest!

Talk about falling off the wagon...

The blog wagon, that is.  I have really fallen behind on updating and sorts.

I'm officially down 12lbs since January 12th.  I'm pretty happy with that!  It's a great start to a lifestyle change that's all for the better.

I'm still continuing to follow Weight Watchers and exercise for 45 minutes Monday-Friday on my lunch break.  Who knew these two things would provide the results I have been longing for!?  I feel so much better and have more energy.  I feel like I'm a more present parent and that I'm not nearly as stressed out as I previously was.

We had a great weekend.  We got the kidlet signed up for softball and practice starts next weekend.  She is excited to say the least.

We also spontaneously made a trip down to the House of the Mouse yesterday.  That's always guaranteed good fun...and yummy treats!

Birthday Party planning is in full effect for the kidlet's upcoming big day.  Still finding it hard to swallow that by my baby girl is going to be a 4 year old!

8 Years

Eight years ago today in Las Vegas, I said "I Do" to my best friend! Here's to many, many more my Love (and I hope to fit into that dress again one day soon)!

Week One - Recap

Week 1 turned out better than I could've imagined.  I've dropped 6.8lbs!  That's amazing!  I know it's all water weight, but it's a great motivator.

I haven't found it hard to stay on track with my eating since I'm exercising daily.  It's funny how exercising motivates you to stay on track with eating.  The greasy things that used to sound so, so good...no longer really have any appeal.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and update my progress.

See ya soon!

Checking in...

I'm proud of myself this week.  I have made it to the gym every day at lunch for 30 minutes of cardio.  My friend/coworker is also doing this with me, so that really helps with the motivation factor.  I love it!  I'm so energized for the rest of the afternoon and I'm in a great mood when I get home!  Starting next week I will be alternating cardio and strength training (aka weights) into the routine.  This week I was mainly looking to get my heart rate up and used to this new routine.  So far, so good!

I've been making conscious food choices and am meeting my daily point goal, which has always typically been a struggle for me.  I've been cooking a lot more (I used to be a take-out junkie) and we've been able to spend that time in the evenings as a family at the dining room table, rather than plopped in front of the TV.  It's a win:win no matter how you look at it.

I know they say that it takes 45 days to create a habit, and I'm going to try my darnedest to keep it up.  I love the way I feel and I can't wait to see results!  I'll be posting progress pictures...as soon as there is progress to show.

I took the plunge...

This morning I signed up with Weight Watchers.  I've have success on this plan before several years back, and I'm really comfortable with the plan.  Counting calories, etc. is too hard for me to keep up with.  I love that this program still allows for me to eat out at restaurants and it's easy to stay on track since I tend to browse the menu selections prior to going so that I go in knowing what I'm going to have.

This now leads me to fitness.  I'm having a really hard time coming to terms with the fact that I will have to make up with The Gym.  I used to love The Gym, but I get bored and lazy after a while.  I plan to spice up a 5-day-a-week routine that will keep me interested and hopefully provide me with the results I'm after.  I'm always up for new songs to add to my ever-growing playlists.

I got interested in Spinning last year, and I'd like to pick up that habit again.  I loved that hour of pure insanity and it helped me drop some major poundage.  Zumba and the elliptical machine should get me going as well.

I have several friends who are also embarking on their own journeys, and we're all checking in with one and other and keeping each other accountable.  A great support system is a must!

I hate to be on the "New Year" bandwagon, but this time of year makes it so much easier to find and get motivated since it's everywhere you look.  TV, billboards, radio, etc.  Now, it's time to tackle my other goal of Photography education.

So this is it...

I wanted to start a space that was all for me. My other blog is a baby/life book of sorts for my kidlet.

I have a few goals that I'm wanting to accomplish for 2012, and what better way to help me reach them than by holding myself accountable to the interwebs?!
I'm dying to lose the 65lbs I've managed to pack on my frame since birthing a sweet baby girl in 2008! This is the year! I have to do this for my well-being. It's affecting all aspects of my life and I need to get it gone for good.

Secondly, photography. I want to get better at it. I love it. I want to study it; breathe it; be it. I don't want to become a pro like anyone running around with a DSLR these days, but I'd like to learn more about it and know that I can capture special moments before they pass.

I'm sure there will be lots of ranting/raving/sarcasm/musings here...but that's what it's about. Me.

Thanks for stopping by!
